Sioux Nation Ag Center on location in Sioux Falls, SD is looking for a customer service-oriented person to fill the full time Inside Sales position.
This person will be part of a small team of staff providing customer service and sales at the front counter and over the phone during business hours. Applicants should be personable and have the ability to prioritize customer service. Experience in the animal health industry with products, feed, nutrition and procedures is preferred. In addition, ideal candidates will be proficient with computers and various technology or be willing and able to learn. General knowledge of the industry and locations a plus.
This is a Monday-Friday position working 40 hrs a week and includes benefits and competitive pay!
Duties include the following:
- Staff front sales desk when needed as part of rotation with other staff members.
- Answer customer questions regarding products and services provided by Sioux Nation
- Load customer feed orders, including lifting bags and using the forklift.
- Track customer orders
- Daily sales reporting
- Daily inventory ordering
- Inventory counting and management of expired inventory.
- Manage and purchase office supplies.
- Input accounts payable invoices
- Print and mail monthly billing statements
- Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of store

General Description: This position is considered remote as it will provide support and oversight of all swine feed sales efforts throughout the company and to all locations. Candidate will drive growth of feed sales through technical support of field marketers and formulate and balance rations for field marketers’ customers. You will be exposed to a large variety of experiences and opportunities for great learning, all while providing on-site consulting services to feed customers to help maximize overall animal performance.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Support field marketers’ and manufacturers’ feed sales through consultation and ration balancing.
- Travel with field marketers to customer sites to identify problems and opportunities.
- Research and provide answers to problems and guide customers through corrective measures.
- Formulate and build feed rations to minimize cost and maximize animal performance.
- Drive growth of feed sales through new product development, analysis, and customization.
- Identify new product opportunities and help determine feasibility and profitability for the company and the customer.
- Analyze new and existing products for maximum performance.
- Evaluate current industry trends for product changes, replacements, and advancements and provide guidance to work within the changes and maximize company efforts.
- Analyze Ascend customers’ financials and feed budget variances and offer advice for improvement on any deviations.
- Consult with company veterinarians to determine recommendations for improvements of performance.
- Combine advice with animal health diagnostics for a bundled expertise and product solution.
- Other duties as assigned.
