As you all know, South Dakotastill has soldiers fighting abroad! The 842^nd Engineering Company from the Spearfish, SD area deployed toAfghanistan last fall.  Help us in our efforts to welcome our brave soldier’s home this fall!

Kevin Huber of Irene has donated a beef to be auctioned off on March 9, 2012at 12:00 PMat the Yankton Livestock Barn.  This is a way to thank our brave soldiers for their service to our country.  The All American Beef Battalion, www.steaksfortroops.com , is on the march through theUnited States feeding All American beef to All American soldiers!

The All American Beef Battalion was founded byVietnamveteran Bill Broadie in 2008.  Since that time the organization has fed more than 100,000 military personal and their families a ribeye steak dinner at appreciation events around the country.

Broadie, the founder of the organization, lost his leg in the Vietnam War and earned several medals for his heroism.  When the Vietnam soldiers returned to the United States some criticized them for fighting in an unpopular war and no one thanked them; Broadie wants no soldier to be treated like they were treated when they came home.

The efforts of the All American Beef Battalion to support the National Guards, with our goal to feed the 842^nd Engineering Company and their families a wonderful ribeye dinner, if we cannot feed our soldiers here in South Dakota, we will still feed our brave soldiers here in the United States with the funds raised from the Huber heifer that will be auctioned off. 

Previous auctions have raised anywhere from $1500 to $45,000. Depending on how many times the animal is resold and the size of donations. We here in South Dakota can do better than that, help us set a new goal.
