Austin Langemeier grew up on a diversified livestock operation in Marion, Texas. Within their operation, pigs were a primary focus. At a young age, Austin grew a strong passion for animal agriculture which ultimately led him to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science at Texas Tech University in 2015, where he was actively involved on the judging teams and was an assistant at the school farm. Although he thoroughly enjoys all livestock species, his true desire lies within the swine industry. This led him to transition his educational career to Kansas State University. There, he completed his Masters in Swine Nutrition while staying heavily involved in research assistance, along with, coaching the Meat Animal Evaluation Team. Austin started working for Sioux Nation in September of 2017. Austin hopes to make a contribution in assisting producers and continuing his education with Sioux Nation to make a difference in the swine industry. He resides in Howard, South Dakota and enjoys fishing and hunting in his free time.
